Miami is the second-largest of Florida’s 411 municipalities, and more than half its residents were born outside the United States. Web design in Miami has to work for people who arrived last year and for neighbors who have been here for decades. Aria builds that website for $89 a month, with the domain, business email and hosting included, and you approve the finished site before the first monthly fee is issued.

No setup fee: you only pay the $89 monthly fee, after you approve your website.

What a small business website in Miami has to carry

Miami-Dade County runs the seaport that calls itself The Cruise Capital of the World, and the people who pass through it are not reading your sign from a car window. They are looking at a phone in a hotel room, deciding where to eat, where to get a phone fixed, who can deliver to a building downtown. A website is the only part of your business they can visit before they visit. Put the plain facts where they land first: what you do, which blocks or buildings you cover, the hours, the address, and one button that starts a message. Everything else can wait until they are already interested.

Miami’s average commute runs 27.3 minutes, so a lot of searching happens late, on a phone, by someone with a few minutes and little patience. Pages that load fast and say one thing each beat a clever home page that explains nothing. It also means the phone number is not enough on its own: a contact form that reaches your email lets a customer hire you at eleven at night and lets you answer in the morning. Aria is a web design company based in Curitiba, Brazil, working since 2008. We build the site, put it on a temporary link, and you ask for changes by email until it is right.

How Miami has changed since 2020

Between the 2020 and 2025 estimates, Miami went from 442,895 to 489,812 residents, a change of +10.6%. Florida as a whole changed +8.9% in the same period. For a local business, newcomers are the easiest customers to win and the hardest to reach without a website.

Reaching customers beyond the Miami city limits

The closest municipalities to Miami are Miami Beach (4.5 miles, pop. 81,594), El Portal (5.6 miles, pop. 1,943), West Miami (5.6 miles, pop. 7,125), Miami Springs (5.9 miles, pop. 13,611), Virginia Gardens (6 miles, pop. 2,307) and North Bay Village (6.2 miles, pop. 8,099). The city spreads over 36.0 square miles of land and 20.1 of water, with roughly 13,607 people per square mile. There are 42 incorporated cities and towns within 25 miles of Miami. As the seat of Miami-Dade County, Miami hosts the county government. List the towns you actually serve, such as El Portal and Miami Springs, on your website; customers outside Miami want to know before they call.

Designing a website around Miami’s customers

Spanish is the home language for 68.8% of Miami residents; 39.2% of all residents report speaking English less than very well. A website that makes the essentials obvious at a glance (what you do, where you are, how to reach you) serves both audiences.

Renters are the majority in Miami (69.2% of households; 32.4% in Florida). A renter population turns over and keeps searching for new local businesses.

Self-employment is strong in Miami: 17.7% of workers run their own business (12.8% statewide). Many of them still rely only on social media and referrals.

Broadband reaches 83.6% of households in Miami (91.6% in Florida), and 11.5% get online only through a phone plan. That favors simple pages that load fast over heavy designs.

The median home value is $518,100 and the median gross rent is $1,758 a month (Florida: $359,000 and $1,669). Miami’s median age of 39.3 compares with 42.6 across Florida. At $62,462, Miami’s median household income sits about 16% under the Florida figure ($74,568); customers here compare before they spend. There are 194,821 households, and 30.8% of them own their home.

Small business websites in Miami: the local business mix

The Census Bureau’s ZIP Code Business Patterns put 16,273 establishments with paid employees in Miami’s ZIP codes (33101, 33127, 33128, 33129, 33130, 33131 and others) in 2023. Some of the businesses behind that number:

  • Jewelry stores: 129. Their website should show collections, repair services and a contact form for custom pieces.
  • Law offices: 1,478. Their website should show plain-language pages about the cases you take, office location and a confidential contact form.
  • Boat tour and charter operators: 20. Their website should show the trips you run, what to bring, where to meet and a contact form for dates.
  • Physician practices: 410. Their website should show the doctors, the specialties, the insurance you accept and a contact form for new patients.

Miami-Dade County as a whole had 98,394 employer establishments in 2023 and another 748,628 nonemployer businesses, the one-person shops and independent contractors that often have no website at all. By number of employer establishments, professional, scientific and technical services leads in Miami-Dade County (18.1%), followed by health care and social assistance (11.8%) and retail trade (11.0%). Among Miami residents who work, the largest fields are education, health care and social assistance (17.1%) and professional, management and administrative services (16.6%). Every one of them is a search away from a customer in Miami.

Miami web design FAQ

Many of my downtown customers are visitors staying a few days. What should the website show them?

Put the address, a map, the hours and both ways to reach you where a visitor sees them without scrolling. Add photographs of the storefront so they recognize it from the sidewalk, and a short line about what you do not do, which saves you calls. Someone who found you in a hotel room has no patience for a slideshow.

I work in Miami and nearby towns. Can the website say that?

Yes. A service area page can name each town you cover, such as Virginia Gardens, Miami Beach and El Portal.

Is there a setup fee?

No. No setup fee: you only pay the $89 monthly fee, after you approve your website. There is no lock-in contract either: you can end the service whenever you need.
