Nevada rules for a business with a website

  • Nevada registers DBAs at the COUNTY level, not with the state: a business operating under a name that does not show the real name of each owner files a fictitious firm name certificate with the County Clerk of each county where it does business. The owner name on the certificate must match the entity name on the Nevada State Business License. Official source
  • A city or county general business license is required in addition to the state license; the primary location of the business determines which jurisdiction issues it, and a county license may be needed on top of a city license. Official source
  • Nevada’s base state sales tax rate is 6.85% and local jurisdictions may add more, so the combined rate varies by county. Nevada Department of Taxation
